Job Summary

The CDL Truck Driver role is the key to success for the Landscape Construction department, as this position upholds the values of Sunline Landscapes. The CDL Truck Driver operates company vehicles to transport cargo to and from specific job sites. The Driver also performs enhancements or maintenance tasks alongside other team members.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Accurate and Timely Material and Equipment Deliveries
  2. Adherence to the traffic laws and safely operating equipment as required
  3. Accurate submission of all required documentation and reports in a timely manner

Role Specific Tasks and Duties

  • Safely transporting company equipment,products and materials to and from specified locations in a timely manner.
  • Assisting with the loading and unloading of equipment and materials.
  • Promptly informing the company of any tickets issued against the company vehicle during work hours.
  • Ensuring that the company vehicle is always parked in areas that permit parking in order to avoid towing.
  • Reporting any accidents, injuries, and vehicle damage to management.
  • Communicates with truck and shop mechanics
  • Observes safety regulations and state laws regarding vehicle operation; ensures passengers also follow applicable safety regulations.
  • Communicates with office by phone or team app to receive information.
  • Maintains a clean interior of vehicles that is free of trash and debris
  • Ensures vehicle equipment such as brakes, lights, windshield wipers, etc., is operating properly.
  • Submits accident reports when needed.
  • Informing your Team Lead when stock ought to be maintained, replenished, or replaced.
  • Storing equipment and supplies in a safe manner
  • Work in outdoor environment for entire scheduled shift
  • The ability to navigate and follow an assigned route
  • Be flexible with other duties as assigned

Required Education and Licenses

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Class A CDL License with No Automatic Transmission Restriction

Required Work Experience and Skills

  • Sound knowledge of road safety regulations.
  • Working knowledge of local roads and routes.
  • The ability to utilize maps, GPS systems, and car manuals.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Punctual and reliable
  • Excellent driving skills
  • Self-motivated, well organized, and professional
  • Excellent skills in verbal and written communication and time management
  • Collaboration experience but comfortable working alone or without supervision for extended periods of time
  • Demonstrated Problem Solving/Analysis skills
  • Excellent Customer Service and Client Focus
  • Ability to maintain composure and keep a positive, friendly attitude
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50-75 lbs.
  • Ability to work flexible working hours, including Saturday work if necessary
  • English--fluency in reading, writing, and speaking

Preferred Work Experience and Skills

  • Bilingual is preferred in Spanish/English
  • 2-3 years of Landscape, Accounting, or Construction experience
  • Proven ability to communicate clearly and concisely
  • Ability to multitask
