Overview

A privately held organization operating across hospitality, food manufacturing, and real estate development is seeking a Staff Accountant to join the finance team and provide hands-on accounting support across multiple entities. This Staff Accountant role will focus on core general ledger activities, month-end close, and preparation of financial reports, while also assisting with AP/AR oversight. The Staff Accountant will work closely with senior finance leadership to ensure accurate and timely reporting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close activities
• Review AP/AR transactions and provide oversight on cut-off and accuracy
• Draft and maintain standard financial statements including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow
• Reconcile bank accounts, intercompany balances, and corporate credit cards
• Process vendor invoices and expense reports in compliance with company policy
• Maintain the general ledger and fixed asset register
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and allocation of corporate overhead
• Assist with tax compliance and provide documentation for external advisors
• Monitor internal controls and ensure adherence to accounting standards
• Partner with cross-functional teams across hospitality, real estate, and food manufacturing divisions to capture accurate financial data

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
• 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience (hospitality, food & beverage, or real estate industries a strong plus)
• Working knowledge of GAAP and general ledger processes
• Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, reporting)
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

Boston, MA • $50,000.00-$70,000.00
