HRmango is hiring: Staff Accountant in Salt Lake City

Overview

HRmango is looking to hire a Staff Accountant with 4 years’ experience to work for a growing manufacturing company in Salt Lake City, UT. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), this role is responsible for supporting daily accounting functions, maintaining accurate financial records, and assisting with monthly close and audit processes. Experience with ERP/accounting software is required, and prior experience in the distribution industry is preferred.

Base pay range: $80,000.00/yr - $90,000.00/yr

Position Overview

As a Staff Accountant, you will interface with external vendors as well as many different departments and management levels. The Staff Accountant assists in the financial and operational closing, prepares journal entries, prepares general ledger reconciliations, financial analysis of balance sheets and income statements, summary financial reports and ad hoc financial analysis.

Essential Job Functions

• Prepare and post journal entries for general ledger transactions
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and general ledger balances
• Maintain fixed asset schedules and calculate depreciation
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
• Prepare supporting documentation for internal reporting and external audits
• Accurately process transactions within an ERP/accounting system
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal policies
• Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and process improvement initiatives
• Collaborate with other departments to support financial operations

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 4 years of relevant accounting experience
• Good understanding of U.S. GAAP
• Experience with ERP/accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, Southware)
