Overview
Our client, a leading manufacturing organization with a national footprint and a reputation for operational excellence, is seeking a Staff Accountant to join their corporate team in Monroe, NC. This role will play a key role in maintaining the integrity of financial data and ensuring compliance with internal controls and accounting standards.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and bank statements
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
- Support accounts payable and receivable functions as needed
- Maintain fixed asset schedules and depreciation entries
- Assist with audit preparation and respond to auditor inquiries
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure financial data alignment
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies
Experience
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
- 1+ years accounting experience, ideally within manufacturing or industrial clients
- Strong understanding of GAAP, internal controls, and risk assessment frameworks
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) and audit tools
