Food Safety & Quality Specialist Location: Chicago, IL, 60639

Schedule: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Pay rate: $62,400-$93,600 Duties:

Oversee food safety and quality programs to ensure compliance with SQF, GMP, and regulatory standards Support and lead internal audits; maintain Internal Audit Certification requirements Drive SQF certification initiatives, including program development and implementation Conduct quality checks on the production floor; ensure adherence to food safety standards in dynamic manufacturing environments Develop, update, and maintain food safety documentation and training programs Collaborate with operations teams to identify and resolve quality issues Assist in continuous improvement of food safety and quality systems Perform hands-on inspections, audits, and compliance activities (must be comfortable in less-than-perfect food facility environments) Requirements:

PCQI Certification (required) SQF Food Safety Codes knowledge: 12, 13, 25 GMP Certified Internal Audit Certified (Certified Auditor) 3–5 years of relevant food safety & quality experience Proven track record supporting companies in achieving SQF certification Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Experience working in both small and large-scale manufacturing companies Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
