Food Safety & Quality Specialist
Position: Food Safety & Quality Specialist
Location: Chicago, IL 60639 Employment Type: Full-Time, 100% On-Site Shift: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM Pay: $30–$45 per hour + up to 40% success bonus Hiring Type: Direct Hire or Contract-to-Hire (depending on candidate fit) Industry Focus: Food Manufacturing (experience in gummy or candy manufacturing is a plus)

A rapidly growing manufacturer specializing in both pet and human nutrition is seeking a Food Safety & Quality Assurance Specialist to join its Chicago-based production team. The company is committed to clean-label, functional products and operates its own manufacturing facility with a strong focus on quality, safety, and innovation.
Key Qualifications
Required Certifications & Education
PCQI (Preventive Controls Qualified Individual) GMP Certification Internal Audit Certification (Certified Auditor) Familiarity with SQF Food Safety Codes: 12, 13, and 25 Associate’s Degree or higher in a related field Experience
3–5 years of experience in food safety and quality control Comfortable working on the factory floor, including in facilities that may not meet ideal food industry conditions Proven experience assisting companies in achieving SQF certification Background in both small-scale and large-scale manufacturing environments Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs Preferred
Experience in gummy or candy manufacturing This role is ideal for a hands-on quality professional looking to make a measurable impact in a growing manufacturing operation. Candidates must be fully available to work on-site and bring a proactive, problem-solving mindset to the team.
