Food Safety & Quality Specialist

We are seeking a Food Safety & Quality Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be proactive, hands-on, and experienced in food manufacturing environments. This individual will support food safety programs, quality control processes, and compliance with industry certifications, while working closely with production teams on the factory floor. Location: Near Kostner & Diversey Chicago, IL 60639 Schedule: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM Pay rate: $65,000-$87,000 Based on Experience Employment Type: Full-Time, 100% On-Site Type: Direct Hire / Contract-to-Hire (to be determined based on candidate)

Duties:

Support and maintain food safety and quality control programs Conduct internal audits and ensure compliance with SQF, GMP, and PCQI standards Collaborate with production teams on factory floor safety and quality practices Assist with training and continuous improvement in food safety procedures Maintain accurate documentation and support regulatory inspections and certifications Help drive company initiatives to achieve and maintain SQF certification Requirements:

PCQI Certified SQF Food Safety Codes GMP Certified Internal Audit Certified (Certified Auditor) Ability to lift up to 50 lbs 3–5 years of relevant experience in food safety and quality Experience in both small and large manufacturing companies Experience working on factory floors, including facilities that are not perfect food environments Experience helping companies achieve SQF certification Industry experience in gummy or candy manufacturing is a plus
