Our client, a machinery manufacturer, is looking for an HR Manager to join their team. This is a direct hire role and fully onsite in Gainesville, GA.

Role Overview:

This onsite leadership role will report directly to the HR Director and have a dotted-line relationship to the Plant Manager. The HR Manager will own the day-to-day HR operations for the Gainesville site.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives in fast-paced, sometimes chaotic environments, and brings a strong manufacturing HR background. They must be confident working with senior leaders, influencing directors, and leading a team of up to 4 HR Generalists.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead HR Strategy for the Gainesville site
  • Manage a team of HR Generalists, providing leadership, coaching, and accountability.
  • Attend Plant Manager staff meetings twice per month to align HR with operational needs.
  • Partner closely with department directors and the Plant Manager on:
  • Manpower planning
  • Leadership development
  • Internal communications
  • Drive day-to-day HR operations, including:
  • Employee relations
  • Conflict resolution
  • Coaching and performance management
  • FMLA administration (limited scope)
  • Employee investigations, disciplinary actions, and termination recommendations
  • Maintain and manage time and attendance systems at the plant level.
  • Ensure compliance with all employment laws: FMLA, ADA, FLSA, EEO, etc.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of HR metrics and tracking systems.
  • Help shape and maintain a strong company culture and employee engagement strategy.
  • Ensure internal HR processes align with plant goals and employee needs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required (Human Resources, Business, or related field)
  • 10+ years of HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • 5+ years of direct team management experience
  • FMLA expertise and solid knowledge of labor law compliance
  • Experience with HR metrics, manpower planning, and employee relations
  • Must be a self-starter with strong communication and influencing skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required
  • Must be comfortable working onsite 5 days/week — no remote or hybrid options
