Robbinsdale, MN Compensation:
$25.00-31.00 per hour Schedule:
40 hours per week | Start between 7:30-9:00am, Every Saturday & Sunday/Some Evening Coverage |
Weekend Shifts Required
What you’ll do as the Patient Financial Advocate: Conduct thorough financial screenings to identify payment options and eligibility for assistance programs. Educate patients and families on insurance benefits, coverage levels, billing, and collection processes. Obtain insurance authorizations for services and secure payment arrangements, including co-payments and coinsurance. Provide accurate cost estimates and ensure accounts are cleared for billing before discharge or major outpatient services. Identify and guide patients through financial assistance opportunities, including Medical Assistance applications. Collaborate with patients, families, and insurance carriers to resolve questions and ensure timely approvals. Support efficient billing and collection operations while delivering excellent customer service.
What you’ll bring to the Patient Financial Advocate role: High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree strongly preferred. 1–2 years of experience in patient financial advocacy, registration, or accounting. Strong background in customer service with direct patient-facing financial interactions. Knowledge of insurance processes and government assistance programs, with prior experience obtaining service authorizations preferred. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills with the ability to manage conflict and problem-solve effectively. Ability to work well under pressure while demonstrating tact, and empathy
