We are hiring an

Assistant Program Safety Manager II

to support safety management across construction projects at Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA). This role partners with contractors, inspectors, project managers, and stakeholders to ensure effective safety programs are implemented and that all requirements of contract documents related to safety and security are met.

Essential Job Duties The Assistant Program Safety Manager II will: Work with Contractor Safety Teams, LAWA Inspection Teams, Project Management Teams, and others to ensure assigned projects are implementing effective safety programs. Walk all assigned projects on a regular basis (multiple times daily if needed), covering several miles each day. Use the LAWA ADG Safety platform to perform Task Hazard Analysis audits and document safety observations. Meet with LAWA Inspectors and stakeholders regarding safety concerns and follow up on corrective actions taken by contractors. Review written Safety Plans and monitor field compliance to evaluate the effectiveness of implementation. Assist Project/Construction Managers in verifying contractor compliance with documentation requirements, including: Weekly “toolbox” meetings New employee orientations Daily safety inspection reports Accident/incident investigations and reports Documentation of “competent” or authorized persons, training records, and Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) Research relevant safety requirements when not readily available. Attend Project Progress and Project Safety Committee meetings to monitor contractor and Construction Manager safety performance. Participate in Construction Safety Advisory Council Meetings as directed by the Program Safety Manager. Write clear and effective safety reports. Attend and participate in Monthly All-Hands Safety Meetings to: Discuss safety concerns and successes Provide updates on safety regulations and requirements Deliver monthly training program components on safety-related topics Coordinate with management to promote the proactive, behavior-based ADG Safety Program internally and externally (e.g., National Safety Council, trade groups, professional organizations). Support ADG’s goals by collaborating productively with all stakeholders. Multi-task and prioritize competing responsibilities effectively.

Hardware / Software Knowledge Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) Adobe Acrobat Pro Construction management platforms such as Prolog, VEO, Procore, PMWeb, and other tools as needed Ability to create PowerPoint presentations for reports and training

Education / Training / Professional Experience High school diploma (or equivalent) required Supervisory experience managing other safety professionals Excellent verbal and written communication skills (bilingual a plus) Strong people skills with professional demeanor Demonstrated ability to communicate safety policies and practices effectively Analytical reasoning and problem-solving skills Ability to write reports with photos and distribute findings clearly Balanced approach to technical, business, and people priorities Active Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) certification

required: Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) or higher Minimum

five years of experience

in vertical, tunnel, or heavy civil construction

Cal/OSHA Authorized Instructor
