Overview
Base pay range: $120,000.00/yr - $180,000.00/yr. Our client is an established, family-owned contractor that has been in business for over 50 years. Based out of Quincy, they have a great reputation and pride themselves on repeat business, transparent communication and a balanced field/project management staff. Due to business growth, they seek an experienced Estimator that will report directly to their Ownership group. Generating close to $60M in yearly revenue, they have a diverse portfolio including commercial, healthcare and retail projects.
Responsibilities
- Analyze project documents: review blueprints, specifications, and other construction documents to understand project scope and requirements.
- Perform quantity takeoffs: calculate and list the exact quantities of materials and resources needed for a project.
- Determine costs for materials, labor, equipment, and other expenses to develop detailed budgets and proposals.
- Collaborate with team: work closely with project managers, architects, subcontractors, and clients to coordinate bids and provide cost information.
- Manage bids: oversee the bidding process for subcontractors and vendors to ensure competitive and accurate pricing.
- Utilize specialized software (e.g., BlueBeam or Procore) to create takeoffs, manage data, and generate estimates.
- Stay updated: keep current with new construction methods, material costs, safety codes, and industry trends to ensure accuracy.
- Develop reports: produce written proposals, cost estimates, and budget updates for stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a construction-related field (preferred).
- 5+ years of commercial general contracting experience (preferred).
- 3+ years as a Project Manager, running commercial projects (required).
- Familiarity with construction management software; Procore experience is a plus.
- Thorough knowledge of submittals, RFIs, and project close-out procedures.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task.
- Salary between $120,000 - $180,000, dependent on experience.
- BCBS health insurance for employees and dependents (eligible 30 days after employment).
- Yearly bonus, based on employee performance (approximately $10,000).
- Company cell phone and laptop provided.
- 15 days of paid time off plus paid holidays; 20 days after 2 years.
