Overview
Lead Security Guard in the security department of NAVAL WAR COLLEGE.
Duties
- You will make daily assignments to ensure that guard coverage is provided to assigned patrol areas and duties.
- You will instruct employees in specific tasks and job techniques and provide on-the-job training to new employees in accordance with established procedures.
- You will check and secure buildings, spaces, and areas internal and external to the main facility to protect personnel, property, and facilities.
- You will perform control desk duties including monitoring alarm systems, closed circuit TVs, telephone and radio networks to support security efforts.
- You will verify identification through use of identification cards, badges, biometrics, automated records, vehicle decals, verbal questioning, or other means.

- You must meet the qualifications and be certified to carry a firearm and maintain firearm proficiency.
- You must obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty.
- This position is subject to a pre-employment physical examination and may require other job-specific requirements.

- Rotating shifts and uncommon tours may be required; overtime or night differential may apply.

Qualifications
To qualify, provide evidence of at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to GS-05 or pay band in the federal service or equivalent in private/public sector. Specialized experience includes: controlling personnel access by verifying identification; enforcing security measures to protect personnel, materials, and property; providing guidance on security matters; and providing instructions and training to employees.

Additional information
This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Tour of duty includes standard or rotating shifts. The role may require training and requalification testing. Additional vacancies may be filled by this announcement.
