Overview

We are seeking an Accounting Associate for one of our clients located in Miami. This role will focus on administering management entities, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting the flow of information to internal stakeholders and their advisers. The position provides exposure to all aspects of management entity accounting, interaction with personnel across levels, and the opportunity to take on increasing responsibilities over time. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, detail-oriented, and technologically savvy, with a strong work ethic and an interest in streamlining processes.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare management entity financial statements, including balance sheet, income statement, statement of changes in partners’ capital, and statement of cash flows.
  • Perform quarterly closings, including journal entries in fund accounting software.
  • Prepare quarterly capital account summaries for internal stakeholders.
  • Draft management entity capital calls and distributions, including cash flow estimates for senior leadership.
  • Support external auditors with annual procedures related to management entity financial statements.
  • Assist with carry plan administration (inputs to legal documents, system updates, vesting calculations).
  • Partner with payroll team to complete annual employment-related filings.
  • Proactively evaluate and enhance financial reporting processes by leveraging technology.
  • Support ad-hoc requests from internal stakeholders and/or their advisers.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Prior experience in the financial services group of a nationally recognized public accounting firm required.
  • Experience with private equity partnership accounting and allocations (including carried interest) preferred.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA designation or progress toward CPA strongly preferred.
  • Strong technical accounting skills and knowledge of fund structures.
  • Proficiency with accounting software (experience with fund accounting platforms preferred).
  • High attention to detail, strong analytical ability, and excellent communication skills.
