$8.00/hr - $11.00/hr

Job Summary

The Security Guard ensures a safe, welcoming environment across WE Inc.’s multi-use campus (café, offices, and warehouse). This role focuses on opening/closing procedures, routine patrols, visitor and parking management, camera monitoring, incident reporting, and prompt response to safety concerns while using a calm, professional, and de-escalatory approach that aligns with our mission.

Key Responsibilities

• Open the facility and secure the campus at close; verify doors, gates, windows, and alarms.
• Conduct regular interior/exterior patrols (at least hourly); identify and address hazards.
• Monitor surveillance systems; document and escalate concerns appropriately.
• Manage visitor, vendor, volunteer, and guest access; issue/verify visitor badges.
• Enforce parking rules and permit compliance; coordinate towing only when authorized.
• Respond to incidents and emergencies; contact law enforcement/fire/EMS when needed.
• De-escalate behavioral situations respectfully; remove trespassers when directed.
• Maintain clear, timely incident, shift, and activity logs (basic data entry).
• Coordinate with staff regarding safety protocols and emergency procedures.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong observation, judgment, and verbal communication skills; remains calm under pressure.
• Basic computer skills (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams; camera/alarm interfaces).
• Ability to pass a background check.

Preferred Qualifications

• Security guard training/certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Experience in a multi-use facility (office/retail/warehouse or nonprofit setting).
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities and others facing employment barriers.
• Familiarity with building systems (breakers, elevator controls, cameras, alarms).

Physical & Environmental Requirements

• Frequent walking, standing, climbing, squatting, bending, reaching; ability to move up to 50 lbs.
• Work occurs indoors and outdoors across café, office, and warehouse areas.
• Prolonged periods at a desk/monitoring station as needed.
• Must be able to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing.
• Ability to patrol grounds and respond quickly to access points and incidents.
