Ascent Hospitality is seeking a reliable and vigilant individual to join our team as an Overnight Security Guard. The Overnight Security Guard is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of all guests, team members, and hotel property during nighttime hours. This role requires excellent observation, sound judgment, and the ability to act quickly and calmly in any situation. The Security Guard plays a key role in maintaining a secure and welcoming environment by patrolling the premises, monitoring activity, and responding to incidents.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor hotel premises via foot patrol and surveillance systems during overnight hours.
  • Respond to guest and employee calls for assistance in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Conduct safety inspections of entrances, exits, stairwells, and emergency exits.
  • Enforce hotel policies and procedures regarding guest and employee conduct.
  • Maintain clear and accurate logs and incident reports.
  • Assist in handling emergency situations, including fire alarms, medical emergencies, and evacuations.
  • Control access to restricted areas and ensure the safety of all guests and staff.
  • Work closely with hotel management and local law enforcement when necessary.
  • Escort guests and employees to parking areas when needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Strong attention to detail and situational awareness.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful or emergency situations.
  • Basic understanding of safety and emergency protocols.
  • Ability to write clear and concise incident reports.
  • Must be able to work independently and make quick, informed decisions.
  • Must be available to work overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous security, law enforcement, or military experience preferred.
  • CPR and First Aid certification preferred (or ability to obtain upon hire).
  • Must be 21 years of age or older with a valid driver’s license.
  • Clean background check required.

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
  • Must be able to climb stairs, crouch, kneel, and move quickly in emergency situations.
  • Capable of working in varied indoor and outdoor conditions during patrols.
