Egglife Foods is seeking a passionate, hands-on Human Resources Manager to join our team and serve as the sole onsite HR leader at our Wolcott manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for end-to-end HR functions from recruiting and onboarding to employee relations, compliance, payroll coordination, and culture-building. Reporting directly to the Chief Legal & Human Resources Officer, this position is highly visible and critical to the success of our facility. Essential job functions

Working with guidance and support from the Chief Legal & Human Resources Officer but with expected autonomy you will:

  • Shape and strengthen Egglife’s culture by driving effective hiring practices, supporting performance management, and fostering open communication and positive employee relations.
  • Monitor workforce and employment trends to identify opportunities, recommend improvements, and implement best practices that enhance efficiency and compliance.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for employees, addressing questions related to policies, attendance, payroll, scheduling, and other HR matters with clarity and care.
  • Collaborate closely with Payroll to resolve exceptions and ensure timely and accurate bi-weekly payroll processing.
  • Administer and oversee employee leave programs, including FMLA, disability, accommodations, and worker’s compensation claims.
  • Lead the full-cycle recruitment process for hourly employees, from job postings and candidate sourcing to interviewing, selection, and offer management.
  • Coordinate and support internal job transitions, ensuring smooth and fair processes for promotions and transfers.
  • Oversee onboarding and orientation programs, ensuring new hires are successfully integrated into the team and set up for success.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with employees at all levels by maintaining visibility, approachability, and reliability.
  • Manage external staffing agency partnerships to ensure timely support when supplemental hourly labor is needed.
  • Design and deliver employee engagement and culture-building initiatives that strengthen morale, retention, and a sense of community.
  • Partner with facility leadership to cultivate a safe, positive, and high-performing workplace environment.

Qualifications

  • 3-5+ years of progressive Human Resources experience with demonstrated success managing the full scope of HR responsibilities, from employee relations to compliance.
  • At least 1 year of HR experience in a manufacturing environment, with a strong understanding of the unique challenges of supporting a production workforce.
  • Deep knowledge of core HR practices and a genuine passion for building a positive, engaging, and high-performing workplace culture.
  • Extensive understanding of employment law and HR processes, with the ability to ensure compliance while balancing business needs.
  • Proven collaboration skills and the ability to lead and influence without direct authority, fostering trust across all levels of the organization.
  • High level of integrity, approachability, and trustworthiness, serving as a dependable resource for employees and leadership alike.
  • Self-motivated and intellectually curious, with the confidence to operate independently and thrive in ambiguous, fast-paced environments.
  • Experience with HR systems strongly preferred, including managing data, reporting, and process efficiencies.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with the ability to produce polished reports, communications, and presentations.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, ideally in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
