Job Title: Human Resources Generalist

Location: Phoenix, AZ

Compensation: $33 – $38 per hour (contract with potential to convert to permanent)

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of progressive HR generalist or HR business partner experience
  • Strong knowledge of multi-state compliance (particularly CA, CO, WA, AZ, TX, NM, NV, OK)
  • Advanced skills in Paycom HRIS or similar system
  • Strong decision-making, organizational, and communication abilities
  • Ability to work independently and manage sensitive employee relations matters
  • Onsite availability in Phoenix, AZ
  • Preferred: Bilingual in Spanish; experience in private equity or umbrella company environments

Job Description:

Addison Group is hiring a Human Resources Generalist on behalf of our client. This role is a contract opportunity through the end of the year with the potential to extend or convert to permanent. The HR Generalist will serve as a key resource supporting employees across multiple states while covering during a maternity leave period. This position will manage compliance, employee relations, recruiting, onboarding, HRIS administration, payroll support, and benefits assistance.

Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday. Flexible schedule available (8:00am–5:00pm or 9:00am–4:00pm).

About Our Client:

Our client operates across multiple states and is seeking an experienced HR professional who can work autonomously, make sound decisions, and provide comprehensive HR support during a leadership absence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary HR contact for employees and managers across multiple states
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws
  • Manage employee relations, including investigations, disciplinary actions, and terminations
  • Support benefits administration, including enrollments, changes, and open enrollment coordination
  • Partner with brokers for COBRA, 401(k), and other benefit matters
  • Oversee full-cycle recruitment and onboarding, including background checks and I-9 verification
  • Serve as Paycom HRIS subject matter expert, handling reporting, payroll compliance, and system troubleshooting
  • Collaborate with HR, payroll, and administrative teams to align practices across the organization
  • Provide backup coverage for the HR Director during maternity leave
  • Opportunity to gain multi-entity HR experience
