This is an on-site position based in Amherst, NY.
Responsibilities:
- Support general ledger management, including reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end/year-end closing
- Assist in preparing accurate financial statements (income, balance sheet, cash flow) in accordance with GAAP
- Analyze costs, variances, and pricing to inform decision-making and improve financial performance
- Support internal controls, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and safeguarding company assets
- Collaborate with external auditors during annual audits and provide necessary documentation
- Partner with operations and procurement to streamline processes and provide financial guidance
- Prepare ad hoc reports and support special projects as needed
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA or CMA preferred
- 2+ years of accounting experience, ideally in a manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and general accounting principles
- Experience with ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics AX or similar) and reporting software (COGNOS a plus)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Salary range: $55,000-$68,000/year depending on experience
