Overview
Job Title: Administrative Assistant
FLSA Status: Full Time - non-exempt
Reports to: Corps Officer
Schedule: Typical Office Schedule
Supervises: N/A
Rate of Pay: $24/hour

Benefits: Standard; Full-Time, Non-Exempt employees are eligible for but not limited to the following:

Function
The Administrative Assistant provides administrative support to the El Paso County Coordinators/Corps Officers and the Operational Director, as well as giving assistance to all departments as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Support Advisory Board
- Prepare agendas and take meeting minutes
- Set up room for monthly meetings
- Maintain member roster
- Prepare necessary communication with Board members
- Responsible for all hard copy record retention and shredding of expired files.
- Assist with special events and fund raisers
- Support the Women’s Auxiliary as needed
- Pick up mail at the post office
- Actively work to ensure effective donor recognition where necessary
- Support the Christmas Kettle Fundraiser
- Help with bell ringer hiring process
- Organize and manage Kettle counting room
- Perform general office duties
- Order supplies
- Maintain all copy machines
- Manage Corps Management System software
- Collect and submit monthly statistics
- Perform basic bookkeeping work
- Prepare daily cash receipts
- Deposit all income daily at the bank
- Prepare white mail donations and send to CDS
- Other bookkeeping tasks as assigned
Education, Experience, Skills, Qualifications
- 3 years of experience in an administrative office
- Good communication skills
- Commitment to The Salvation Army
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook proficiency required
- Driving
- If the position requires driving:
- A minimum age of 21 (for insurance provision) and possession of a valid in-state driver’s license is required.
- An MVR will be processed every year in accordance with The Salvation Army’s policies.
- Background Check
- If the position requires driving:
- Continued employment will be contingent upon a biennial (every two years) background check that is processed in accordance with The Salvation Army’s policies.
