Your Role: Reporting to the Head of Life Science Services Strategy, the Director of Strategy development will lead and support strategic initiatives to achieve the ambitious growth goals of the business. You will build the strategic framework to set the direction for our Planning Units and collaborate with the Strategy Execution teams for flawless execution within the framework. Conduct market and financial analyses, build investment plans, and develop market and business insights to support strategic decisions in close partnership with LSS senior leaders. You will work in a highly collaborative manner engaging with controlling, operations and commercial partners, as well as executive leaders in the business. They will gain a solid understanding of the business, market & competitive landscape, and become champions for capabilities we will develop for continued success in the attractive biopharmaceutical CDMO space. This is a highly visible role, with exposure to senior managers across LSS and the Life Science business. Structure and drive strategy development projects aligned with long term objectives of the business Support Life Science strategy development process, preparing impactful presentations to support business decisions Analyze market reports, clinical pipeline databases and internal data (sales, web metrics, operational KPIs, other) to identify trends and quantify opportunities Build business cases to support evaluation of opportunities and investment decisions Support executive management requests for market, competitive and business intelligence data Participate in and lead cross-functional projects and workshops Ability to articulate strategic outlook to executive management and throughout the LSS organization for understanding and buy-in Agility to adapt strategy based on economic climate and fast paced technological advancements Who you are: Minimum Qualifications: Strong scientific background supported by undergraduate degree; advanced degree (MBA, PhD) preferred At least 10 years in a Strategy Development role within management consulting or the Life Science industry (e.g. strategy, product management, market research) Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated success in strategy development in a CDMO organization. Excellent business acumen and strategic orientation Outstanding project and time management skills, along with demonstrated delivery of continued high-quality work in a changing and innovative environment Strong communication skills and an ability to translate complex information into succinct and impactful messages. Strong financial stewardship and budget management. Ability to deal with ambiguity and complexity Motivated by results, urgency, personal commitment and eager to have a strong impact within our global organization Ability to think critically and analytically, deriving actionable insights from data Fluent in English, strong written & verbal communication skills. Ability to speak a second language (German, French, Chinese) a plus Understanding of pharmaceutical value chain and drug development process Strong communication across different management levels to foster alignment, and achieve results Willingness to constructively contribute and debate key issues across multiple areas of the business Willingness to travel 10-20% This role can be placed in Germany or USA
