As a Construction Plumbing Lead Technician, you'll take the lead on plumbing system installations for commercial and residential construction projects. This role requires a valid RI /MA Journeyman Plumber license and a strong understanding of piping systems, code compliance, and blueprint interpretation. You'll support the Foreman by executing high-quality installations, guiding apprentices, and communicating field needs or issues for resolution.

Essential Job Functions

Install water, waste, vent, and gas piping systems per project plans, specs, and applicable plumbing codes Set and connect plumbing fixtures, equipment, and related components in accordance with manufacturer guidelines Read and interpret blueprints, riser diagrams, and isometric piping drawings Measure, cut, thread, join, and secure pipe using approved tools and methods (e.g., soldering, ProPress, grooved couplings) Identify field issues or conflicts and communicate them to the Foreman or Project Manager Provide technical guidance to apprentices and helpers to ensure accurate and safe installation Perform rough-ins and finish work per schedule and trade sequencing Test piping systems for leaks and integrity using air, water, or pressure gauges Ensure all installations meet applicable state and local plumbing codes and GEM quality standards Maintain job site cleanliness and organization, including material staging Use hand and power tools safely and effectively in a construction setting Track daily work completed, material used, and any field deviations using company apps or paperwork Participate in daily toolbox talks, job hazard assessments, and site safety meetings Follow all PPE requirements and adhere to GEM and site-specific safety protocols

Required Skills and Experience Valid RI/MA Journeyman Plumber License (required) Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a lead plumber or senior installer role on construction sites Ability to read and interpret plumbing drawings, submittals, and specs Skilled in joining piping systems (copper, cast iron, PEX, PVC, CPVC, etc.) and fixture rough-in/set Knowledge of state plumbing code and safe job site practices High school diploma or GED required Strong verbal communication and task leadership skills Legally authorized to work in the U.S. Valid driver's license in good standing Comfortable using tablets or mobile apps for documentation and communication

Working Conditions

Environment The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud Evening and/or early morning, and/or weekend/holiday hours periodically Will work both indoors and outdoors in various climate conditions ranging from very cold to very hot and humid
