Position overview: The Human Resources Lead will serve as the first dedicated HR leader at Alert Venture Foundry, responsible for designing and executing people-focused strategies to support our growing team. This role combines strategic HR leadership with hands-on execution. About one-third of your time will be dedicated to recruiting top talent, while the remainder focuses on employee experience and ensuring HR processes are compliant, efficient, and aligned with our company values. This is a Hybrid role, working Monday–Thursday in office, Friday work from home.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and oversee HR policies, procedures, and best practices that reflect company culture and compliance standards.
  • Manage full-cycle recruiting across technical and non-technical roles, onboarding, and offboarding processes.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership and employees on performance management, employee relations, and professional development.
  • Administer compensation, benefits, and payroll in partnership with finance.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Foster employee engagement initiatives to strengthen company culture.
  • Support organizational planning, talent development, and succession strategies.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience, ideally in a small to mid-sized, high-growth company.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Experience managing recruitment, employee relations, and performance management.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP, or equivalent) preferred.
