Position Description:
We are seeking a reliable HR Coordinator to join our team. This role acts as the initial point of contact for internal and external HR inquiries, providing guidance on the interpretation of HR policies and federal and state employment law compliance. They also maintain employee data for multiple company locations using BambooHR software, and act as a liaison to Management and outside entities.
- Perform general administrative functions, including maintaining employee files, updating legal compliance logs, and managing HRIS data entry and maintenance.
- Support the payroll transition process.
- Assist with talent acquisition and support the onboarding of new employees for all locations and departments.
- Coordinate annual open enrollment and administer company benefits.
- Provide employee relations support, including documentation of employee grievances and incident/accident reports and coordination of workers comp claims, unemployment claims, garnishments and leaves of absence.
- Data entry and database management with BambooHR, the HRIS software employed by Blach.
- Assist with updating employee handbooks and modify and maintain employee job descriptions.
- Coordinate and assist with compliance audits.
Skills:
- Effective verbal and written communication to communicate effectively with staff at all levels of the organization.
- Working knowledge of PC operations, such as spreadsheet and database management and ad-hoc reporting.
- Must possess initiative and be capable of achieving independent thinking and action, with good problem-solving skills and ability to function effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of employment labor laws and regulations.
- Experience with HRIS systems (e.g., BambooHR, Paycom, ADP, Rippling, etc.).
- Experience and/or knowledge in the following areas: Employee Relations, Investigations, Compliance, Documentation, Recruiting & Retention, Job Description Development, Leaves of Absence Management and Legal Guidelines, Safety, Worker's Compensation.
Qualifications & Skills:
- HR certification or related experience with HR is preferred.
- Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to bend, reach, kneel, twist and grip items as needed.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- Must be 18 years old (or subject to verification of minimum legal age).
