Overview

The NBC News Group has an exciting opportunity for an HR Coordinator to provide support to different business groups across the portfolio. The HR Coordinator will perform a broad range of client support activities, including Human Resources administration, employee interaction, and project work. This position will provide HR administrative and transactional support for the NBC News Group HR team. In this role, you will support a group of employees across the News Group including News Digital, News NOW, Dateline, and Nightly News. This role is based in New York, NY and is designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the New York office a minimum of four days per week.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary expert for all HR systems and transactions to keep the business running
  • Manage transactions related to HRIS employee lifecycle via SAP (Hires, Terminations, LOA, Change in Pay, Promotions, Organizational updates, etc.)
  • Run weekly, monthly and quarterly ad hoc reports from applicable HR system
  • Process data changes, promotions, time keeping actions, and termination paperwork
  • Assist HR Leaders in handling issues such as benefits, payroll, disability, etc.
  • Respond to routine HR questions including benefits, payroll, vacation or redirect employees to appropriate contacts
  • Stay updated on new regulations, company policies & procedures
  • Handle employee inquiries timely and respectfully
  • Support key HR initiatives, including performance management, succession planning & compensation planning
  • Coordinate interview and meeting scheduling, general correspondence, presentation preparation and other administrative responsibilities as needed
  • Maintain and update organization charts
  • Coordinate and support planning and implementation of employee engagement activities
  • Draft and distribute employee communications in partnership with HR, facilities and Communications
  • Work on special assignments and projects; operate independently and prioritize effectively
  • Handle confidential information appropriately
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • 1+ years of work experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree OR equivalent work experience
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Useful Experience

  • Transactional experience using HR systems

Eligibility & Benefits

  • Must be willing to work overtime when required
  • Must be willing to travel for work if necessary
  • Hybrid: designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the New York, NY office a minimum of four days per week
  • This position is eligible for company-sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and other perks
  • Salary range: $55,000-$65,000
