JOB SUMMARY This position is responsible for all administrative, clerical, and financial functions of the North Shore Municipal Court. The position performs work of considerable responsibility, diversity, detail, and confidentiality in the daily operations of the Municipal Court. This position is supervised by the Municipal Judge. Duties/Responsiblities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as deemed necessary by the Judge. Maintain court case files: paper and electronic, prepare and process court dockets and calendars for scheduled appearances, trials, pre-trials, hearings, reviews; tracks court cases and court-ordered actions. Data Entry for court records to include dispositions, forfeitures, appearances, court orders, Judicial notes, enforcements, alternatives, attorney information, witnesses, payments, reviews, decisions. Maintains court software including security and permissions per law and court rule, and efforts to enhance the productivity of current or new software packages. The Municipal Judge is the "legal custodian" of the records but may transfer that responsibility to his/her Court Clerk in his/her absence. Answers phone calls to include assisting public, litigants, attorneys, State, local and other agencies. Works as a liaison with the Police Department and City Attorney and informs both of upcoming trial dates, arraignment dates, court policies or policy changes, law, or bond schedule changes. Attends all court sessions; prepare and maintain courtroom, court records, addendums, and payment notices. Maintains record of all recorded trials, motion hearings and restitution hearings. Prepares court records for Appeals, Jury Demands, remands, and all substitution of jurisdiction requests/orders. Execute the issuance of bench warrants, affidavits, commitments, and Driver's License Suspensions as ordered by the Judge. Assist in preparing annual budget. Queries federal, state, and local databases as necessary. Files pending and completed cases. Maintains record retention as required by law. Completes public record requests regarding court case files, including certified records. Composes replies for routine correspondence and prepares routine legal forms for signature. Releases information under the direction of the Judge. Assists the Judge in the formulation and implementation of court rules, policies, and court forms, and standard operating procedures. Prepare and maintain all records submitted to and received from The Department of Revenue Tax Intercept Program and State Debt Collection Agency. Responsible for managing the accounting of court funds and revenue received and disbursed; responsible for processing the monthly financial reports to the State of Wisconsin, Milwaukee County and the City Treasurer's office. Responsible for maintaining, and purging all records as set by State Statute and City Ordinance. Responsible for ordering office supplies. Complete Account Payable records for court supplies, restitution payments, refunds, witness fees and other requests as needed. Remains current in court law and operation with the yearly attendance at the Wisconsin Municipal Court Clerk's Seminar. Attends District Court Clerk meetings as Municipality Representative. Prepares subpoenas and summons. Prepares and maintains appropriate calendars and distributes pre-trial and trial notices to officers. Initiates requests for driving and criminal records, and other citations when necessary. Coordinates interpreters for hearing impaired defendants, language interpreters, or substitute Judges when applicable. Prepares State caseload statistics. Performs any other duties as required or assigned by the Judge. SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND/OR EXERCISED

Reports to the North Shore Municipal Judge. General daily oversight provided by Senior Court Clerk including, but not limited to approval of requested time off and general adherence to required job duties as permitted by the North Shore Municipal Judge. Other

Education and/or Experience

Regular Full-time attendance is required in this position. Valid Wisconsin Driver's License. Graduation from high school or GED equivalent with course work in typing and/or general office practices; and 1-2 years of experience in municipal court work or combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the requirements of the position. Experience and trained possessing the ability to use Microsoft Office programs for data entry and retrieving information. Certification or ability to become certified for Wisconsin T.I.M.E. system. Basic knowledge of TiPSS Court Records package preferred. Language Skills

Effective and professional communication skills, both verbal and written, in response to inquiries made by citizens, employees and officials. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of court proceedings, policies, documents, laws and ordinances, legal terminology, accounting practices and principles relating to the Municipal Court. Skill in the use and care of a personal computer and other modern office equipment. Apply rational judgment under stressful conditions. Organizational abilities and skills to provide for timely and efficient workflow daily. Considerable skill and diplomacy in establishing working relationships with others. Well-defined skill and knowledge of oral and written communications. Good knowledge of grammar, punctuation, and spelling. Comprehensive knowledge of business forms and letter writing. Considerable knowledge of office procedures, practices, and equipment. Skill in discretionary judgment in dispensing information and maintaining confidentiality. Ability to work independently. Ability to read, analyze and interpret general instructions and technical procedures used in the Municipal Court. Ability to perform basic math including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication. Ability to calculate and use percentages. Perform the four operations with like common and decimal fractions. Perform arithmetic operations involving all American monetary units. Equipment Used:

Telephone, typewriter, calculator, and other standard desktop equipment. Copy machine, fax- machine, adding machine, and cash register. Computer and related equipment. Software includes word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and other miscellaneous applications. Additional Information

Work is performed in an office setting. Hand-eye coordination is necessary to operate various pieces of office equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include vision and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to:

- Regular full-time employees shall accrue PTO on a semi-monthly basis. PTO increases with years of service in accordance to the PTO schedule and is allocated accordingly on a semi-monthly basis. Holiday

Retirement

All employees who work more than 1,200 hours a year are automatically enrolled in Wisconsin Retirement. The employee is responsible for 50% of the contribution. In 2025, 6.95% of the employee's salary is the contribution rate. This is deducted from each paycheck. Life Insurance

New employees, not previously in WRS, are eligible for enrollment. The City pays for the basic plan. Health Insurance

The City pays 88% of the lowest cost plan available under State Health Plan in the City's service area (Milwaukee County). No co-pay, No Deductible plan. Dental Insurance

The employee may participate in dental insurance at their expense. Two programs are offered. Retirees are eligible to continue their participation in the City's dental insurance program. Deferred Compensation (457D)

The City offers three different plans for contributing to Deferred Compensation.
