The Division of Child Development and Early Education (DCDEE) is seeking a Grants Administrator I to support the Budget Section in managing the financial aspects of state and federal grants. This position helps ensure that grant awards are properly tracked, obligations and expenditures are monitored, and financial reporting meets federal and state requirements.

The Grants Administrator I will work closely with the Contracts Unit and the DHHS Office of the Controller to align funding with contracts and amendments, create requisitions, and encumber funds in NC eProcurement. The role also assists with preparing reimbursement and invoice requests, managing purchase of service obligations, and maintaining accurate financial records for contracts.

This position is key to supporting fiscal leadership by providing accurate financial data, assisting with budget revisions and forecasts, and ensuring that DCDEE's grant resources are managed responsibly and in compliance with program, state, and federal guidelines. Management Preferences:

Experience in grant administration, contract financials, or compliance monitoring. Ability to review budgets, invoices, and financial reports for accuracy and compliance with state and federal requirements. Familiarity with state financial systems (NCFS, NC eProcurement) or similar grant/financial management platforms. Proficiency in Excel and financial tracking tools for monitoring grant-funded contracts.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, public administration, or a related discipline from an accredited institution or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
