Overview

Do you like helping customers implement innovative cloud computing solutions and solve technical problems? Do you have a knack for helping groups understand application architectures and integration approaches, with the consultative and leadership skills to launch a project on a trajectory to success? AWS is looking for a highly motivated Solutions Architect to help accelerate the State and Local Government business as part of the World Wide Public Sector practice.

As a Solutions Architect within AWS, you will help shape and deliver on a strategy to build broad use of AWS computing, machine learning, and AI services directly with customers and our ecosystem of system integrators and solution providers. You will own the technical engagement and success around specific implementation projects, define implementation architectures, respond to RFPs, and develop deep expertise in AWS technologies as well as broad know-how on how applications and services are constructed on the AWS platform. You will also be a subject matter expert on security as it relates to customer applications and services.

Responsibilities include leading technical design discussions, guiding customers through cloud architectures, and sharing best-practice knowledge within the AWS solution architect community.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical engagement and ensure success around specific implementation projects.
• Define implementation architectures and respond to RFPs.
• Develop deep expertise in AWS technologies and broad know-how of how applications and services are built on the AWS platform.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on security for customer applications and services.
• Provide exceptional technical design and thought leadership to customers while collaborating with sales and business development teams.
• Capture and share best-practice knowledge within the AWS solution architect community.
• Collaborate with customers and ecosystem partners to accelerate adoption of AWS services.

Basic Qualifications

• Experience with one of the following programming languages: Python, Ruby, Node.js, C#, or C++
• Experience with two or more of the following: networking fundamentals, security, storage or databases (relational or NoSQL), operating systems (Unix, Linux, or Windows)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience implementing a cloud-based technology solution
• Experience in Cloud Architecture, Systems Design, Software Development, Infrastructure Architecture, Data Engineering or DevOps
