Description:

  • Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served by the laboratory
  • Assesses job functions and takes appropriate action when problems are detected.
  • Identifies problems with specimens, test orders, registration and takes appropriate action
  • Identifies patients and specimens correctly from beginning of process to release of results.
  • Accessions specimens into the Laboratory Information System, accurately recording pertinent data to be used by the physician in the interpretation of tests results
  • Collects blood samples by appropriate method on premature babies to geriatric patients utilizing prescribed safety and infection control procedures to protect the patient and the phlebotomist
  • Investigates, documents and follows up on customers concerns, inquiries and provides prompt, polite customer service

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
