Role & Responsibilities

This person is responsible for maintaining outstanding customer service and open communication between all departments, and the Members and guests of Flying Horse Resort & Club. The applicant will greet and properly direct all vehicles and persons entering the property at Flying Horse Resort & Club. The applicant must have a strong working knowledge of everything occurring on property on a daily basis to include lodge arrivals and departures, events, reservations, construction, deliveries, etc. This person is the first impression of the Club and will have the highest level of professionalism in both verbal and physical presentation. This person will ensure proper follow up and notification processes as needed. This person will primarily work the overnight shift and must be responsible and capable of working independently as well as a part of a team

  • Ensure that each Member and guest receive outstanding guest services by providing a friendly professional environment to include; proper greeting, directions, knowledge of event schedule, reservations, etc.
  • Ensure Overnight Gatehouse attendant is present and informed during the entire presences of Emergency personnel being on property as well as always completing and submitting detailed incidents reports to Direct Supervisor, Manager& Director of the Athletic Club.
  • Assist with any security matters on property when asked to include assisting other areas with first response to any suspicious behavior.
  • Hourly quality assurance checks throughout each building on Property.
  • Maintain and complete Fire Watch Log.
  • Respond to Member and guest inquiries and requests and resolve any issues in a timely, friendly and efficient manner.
  • Maintain a safe workplace by utilizing “safety first” practices to remain accident-free.
  • Practice and be familiar with all safety procedures, fire alarms, gas/water isolation valve locations, First Aid requirements and be able to act calmly and professionally in times of emergency.
  • Set and restock Men’s Spa lockers. Be sure each Spa locker is equipped with the correct Robe & Sandal size as well as resetting the locker code for the following business day.
  • Opening Athletic Club duties- Overnight Attendants must complete Coffee station set up (3 regular 1 decaf) station set up, Iced Lemon water set up and bring down the divider in the Gym. This must be complete by 4:30AM Monday-Thursday and by 6:30AM Saturday- Sunday.
  • Serve as a Member of the gatehouse/security team and attend meetings as required.
  • Communicate the rules of the club to the Athletic Club team, members and guests.
  • Assist with the oversight of the overnight cleaning team and ensure that duties are completed on overnight shifts.
  • Handle conflict as the need arises in a calm, professional manner.
  • Assist with receiving mail packages and organizing them for departmental pick up.
  • Clean and organize the gatehouse keeping the inside and outside area tidy at all times.
  • Check phone messages and respond as needed.
  • Must complete nightly email shift pass down as per Gatehouse protocol, as well as read all daily emails and respond as needed.
  • Must be available throughout their entire shift on work radio and must respond immediately if contacted.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Athletic Club Supervisor, Manager and Director.

Qualifications & Educational Requirements

  • Have a High School degree.
  • Have at least three years of experience in a customer service setting.
  • Security/Gatehouse background preferred.
  • Have the ability to operate a computer.
  • Must have the ability to lift and move 30 lbs., 50% of the time.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time while in an outdoor covered space while directing/greeting vehicles.
  • Must be able to communicate in English
  • Must be available to work weekends and holidays as required.
  • Must be able to be in all elements of weather and be prepared for sun, rain and snowy conditions.

Must possess customer service skills and strong oral communication skills. Competency in dealing with Members, guests and fellow employees under circumstances requiring tact and diplomacy. Must possess the ability to work effectively under time deadlines. Must strive to ensure a professional atmosphere, and handle any concerns with tact following the proper chain of command.
