Overview
Position: Concierge – Garden of the Gods Resort and Club. The Fitness Concierge is the welcoming, first-impression role that ensures a positive, enjoyable, rewarding, and memorable workout experience with every interaction, every session, and every day. The Concierge greets and directs athletes, guests, members, and team members as they enter the facilities and provides assistance with inquiries about fitness operations, gym policies, personal training and fitness coaching opportunities, workout reservations, group fitness class schedules, and related administrative functions, including phone and email management, facility and equipment sanitation, and retail sales.
Responsibilities
- Operate efficiently all functions of the Fitness Center, equipment, and workouts.
- Create up-to-date athlete records and workout preferences in database management systems.
- Maintain sanitation, cleanliness, and tidiness of gym facilities, locker rooms, lobby, and retail areas.
- Maintain full stock of equipment, towels, supplies, and athlete amenities.
- Manage workout reservations, including recurring bookings and cancellations, and assist with bookings.
- Process check-in, check-out, and payments in accordance with policies.
- Execute Guest Pass procedures for affiliates and collaborate with Membership.
- Maintain product knowledge for retail, including brands, pricing, promos, and contacts; know fitness equipment brands, specs, and benefits.
- Provide consistent friendly and professional phone and email etiquette.

- Integrate physical fitness into everyday wellness and special occasion retreats where appropriate.
- Maintain confidentiality in athlete matters and uphold the STRATA Wellness aesthetic, appearance, atmosphere, and culture.
- Address athlete questions promptly and courteously; address feedback using the LEARN Model.
Position Requirements
Minimum Knowledge
- Ability to think critically and creatively; knowledge of proper body mechanics to prevent injury.
- Basic financial knowledge, including math, money handling, and pricing.
- Excellent communication skills; computer skills (including Excel); strong interpersonal skills and record keeping.
Formal Education and Job-Related Experience
- High School Diploma required; some college preferred.
- Background in physical education, exercise science, sports medicine, kinesiology, biology, or sport management preferred.
- Previous gym, fitness, wellness, or personal trainer experience preferred.
Licensing, Registration, and Certification
- None required
Work Details
- Weekly and occasional responsibilities include participation in shift meetings, opening/closing checklists, and collaboration with instructors for class check-in.
- Occasional involvement with facility projects and other duties as assigned by Wellness Management.
- Teamwork and collaboration with fellow concierges and all team members to ensure efficiency and camaraderie.
Working Conditions and Physical Demands
- Ability to handle regular stresses and adapt to changing workload.
- Prolonged standing; ability to lift and move materials up to 75 pounds intermittently.
- Exposure to varying temperatures, odors, noise; work may include unlevel or slippery surfaces.
- Availability required for early mornings, mid-days, late evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Safety and Travel
- Comply with all safety policies and procedures of Garden of the Gods Resort and Club.
- Position does not require travel to client locations; work is completed on property.
