Maintenance Supervisor – what you’ll do

Directs, manages, and holds accountable all maintenance employees. Directs and implements maintenance programs for building and machinery in an orderly, efficient, and professional manner. Keeps accurate records of department activities and budgets. Ensures the operation of safe and functional machinery. Directs major equipment rebuilding and overhauls. Works with government regulatory agencies. Other responsibilities as assigned.

Job Details

Shift: 5:00am – 2:00pm (Tuesday–Saturday or Sunday–Thursday)

Responsibilities

  • Ensure effective and efficient performance of all maintenance-related functions. Supervise routine and preventive maintenance on all production and building equipment. Implement and schedule a preventive maintenance system. Resolve issues promptly and effectively.
  • Plan and coordinate equipment rebuilds and overhauls. Manage budgets; recommend and control expense budgets and capital expenditures.
  • Supervise maintenance department staff; interview, hire, direct, and terminate personnel.
  • Ensure staff are trained; conduct performance appraisals; provide regular feedback; maintain personnel files.
  • Provide leadership and motivation through delegation, goal setting, and communication. Hold employees accountable. Implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and Swire Mission Statement and Core values.
  • Coordinate department functions; maintain records for department, equipment, and budget; monitor budget; maintain spare parts stock; monitor usage of supplies; keep management informed of activities and issues.
  • Establish effective working relationships with department staff and other managers to resolve issues.
  • Maintain safe and clean maintenance operations and ensure OSHA compliance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering or a related field required, or equivalent experience
  • High school diploma with additional experience acceptable
  • 6+ years manufacturing experience required (beverage/food preferred)
  • 4+ years supervising manufacturing staff
  • Understanding of ISO management systems for quality, safety, and environmental management
  • Knowledge of Food Safety, HACCP, and GMP requirements
  • Understanding of Coca-Cola KORE requirements
  • Strong understanding of plant production systems and equipment (electrical, plumbing, water handling, mechanical, automation, etc.)
  • Knowledge of industry maintenance standards for manufacturing of food-grade products
