The host plays a critical role in the guest experience, as the first and last person who will interact with our guests. You are responsible for setting the tone.

Responsibilities

  • Always treats guests with courtesy and respect in a variety of situations.
  • Displays honesty & integrity.
  • Inspires and motivates team members to be consistently engaged in serving others, always looking for opportunities to improve.
  • Builds strong partnerships with internal customers and outside vendors.
  • Welcomes and greets all guests; recognizes regular and VIP guests.
  • Uses personality and hospitality skills to provide a seamless and memorable guest experience.
  • Dresses professionally in clean, presentable attire and maintains a welcoming demeanor.
  • Checks guests in and walks them to tables, engaging in conversation and presenting menus.
  • Assists guests with seating and ensures chairs are presented properly.
  • Listens to guests complaints and works to diffuse unhappy situations, escalating to management as needed.
  • Masters the OpenTable system (or other reservation systems used).
  • Completes opening and closing side work as assigned; interacts with colleagues and guests in a cheerful, professional manner.
  • Communicates with the Maitre dth about open tables, long waits, or guest issues; apologizes for delays when necessary.
  • Welcomes all guests as the host would in their own home and ensures a warm farewell at departure.
  • Handles reservations, answers phone calls with a warm, inviting & professional tone, and accommodates guest needs via email & telephone. Confirms reservations 1 day prior and communicates event inquiries to the Sales Team.
  • Forwards all messages promptly and handles all credit card authorizations for guests; collects credit card information for itemized receipts and disputes.
  • Directs lost and found inquiries to management; maintains an efficient and accurate reservation system; understands basic restaurant information and the floor plan & service flow; communicates VIP reservations, cancellations, and guest issues with Restaurant Managers and the Maitre dth.
  • Keeps the reservations office clean and organized and ensures guests phone interactions reflect the restaurants standard of hospitality.

Requirements

  • 1–2 years of similar experience.
  • Understanding of the reservations system (OpenTable).

Rate of Pay: $20.00 - $22.00/hour
