Responsibilities and Authorities

  • Build strong partnerships with internal customers and outside vendors.

Specific Duties

  • Welcomes and greets all guests.
  • Knows restaurant and company information, including hours of operation, directions, neighborhood awareness, sister properties, and names and titles of corporate employees.
  • Recognizes regular and VIP guests.
  • Uses personality and hospitality skills to provide a seamless and memorable guest experience.
  • Dresses professionally in clean, presentable attire and maintains a welcoming demeanor.
  • Checks guests in and escorts them to their tables, engaging in conversation.
  • Pulls out chairs and presents menus individually.
  • Listens to guests’ complaints and works to diffuse unhappy situations with management assistance when needed.
  • Masters the OpenTable system and related reservations processes.
  • Completes opening and closing side work as assigned.
  • Interacts with fellow employees and guests in a cheerful, professional manner.
  • Communicates with the Maitre D’ about open tables, long waits, or guest issues.
  • Courteously handles and apologizes for tables waiting past their reservation time.
  • Welcomes all guests with hospitality and sees them off with a warm farewell.
  • Handles reservations and answers all phone calls with a warm, inviting, and professional tone.
  • Cater to guest needs and requests by communicating via email and telephone.
  • Confirms all reservations one day prior.
  • Communicates event inquiries to the Sales Team.
  • Forwards all phone messages.
  • Handles all credit card authorizations and acquires necessary credit card information for itemized receipts and disputes.
  • Forwards all lost and found inquiries to management.
  • Maintains an efficient and accurate reservation system (OpenTable or other systems used).
  • Maintains a working understanding of all basic restaurant information and the complete floor plan and service flow of the restaurant.
  • Communicates all necessary information (VIP reservations, cancellations, guest issues) with the Restaurant Managers and the Maitre D’.
  • Keeps the reservations office clean and organized.
  • Understands that guests’ phone interactions are a very important part of the dining experience and that you are the diner’s first impression of the restaurant.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of similar experience
  • Understanding of the reservations system (OpenTable)

Rate of Pay: $20.00 - $22.00/hour
