Scope

The Warehouse Supervisor position at OPW – PES’s Engineered Controls (RegO Products) Business Unit is a high-visibility role with primary responsibility to directly supervise the receiving and shipping areas. They collaborate with the Supply Chain, Purchasing, and Production teams to create a strategy for storage and supply. The Warehouse Supervisor oversees operations at a warehouse or storage facility to ensure that all incoming and outgoing inventory is processed accurately and timely, according to schedule. The duties include preparing schedules for Warehouse Associates, training new employees on how to use machinery and monitoring compliance with safety standards. Directs all daily aspects of the Warehouse Department. A self-starter who implements action plans to meet objectives and can make recommendations and implement change to improve flow.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Supervises the Warehouse team in the execution and delivery of services by training, coaching and mentoring staff. Has the ability to back-fill operators if necessary and train them directly on warehouse equipment
  • Trains and develops the Warehouse team to improve flexibility, knowledge, and skill
  • Coordinates the direction of all inbound inventory for storage and production
  • Coordinates the direction of the shipping team, working with freight forwarders and logistics teams to optimize transportation
  • Develops plans for efficient use of time, materials, machines, and team members
  • Reviews and maintains inventory control programs/procedures to ensure inventory accuracy in the warehouse
  • Monitors and reviews all equipment, procedures, and practices to ensure proper safety and work conditions are met
  • Plan and schedule all departmental activities including cycle counting, inventory management, inventory transactions, auditing, and reporting
  • Conducts regular inventory analysis to solve inventory problems
  • Responsible for improving Warehouse organization, visual management and 6S metric
  • Identify and develop operational measures to maximize inventory processes and minimize costs
  • Controls costs through productivity of personnel, efficient utilization of storage space, and proper protection of stored materials
  • Coordinate with all internal departments to ensure accuracy and selection of inventory
  • Maintains safe & well-organized work environment
  • Communicate with other departments to ensure products are shipped in a timely manner
  • Implement and manage cycle count processes for inventory accuracy
  • Analyzes current procedures and new ideas to improve current productivity and efficiencies and where possible, implements
  • Leads improvement activities in supply, storage, packaging, and flow in the warehouse to improve warehouse metrics
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of work experience in warehouse, distribution center or supply chain management
  • Proficient in PC applications to include MS Word, Excel & PowerPoint
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to manage staff
  • Basic understanding of lean manufacturing
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, especially in relation to analyzing data and using it to make decisions
  • Demonstrated experience executing continuous improvement activities & implementation of best practice activities in the supply chain
  • High Emotional Intelligence, strong verbal & written communication skills to function as part of a high-performance team. Excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Extremely organized and detailed oriented with excellent follow-up
  • Minimum five years ERP systems experience required; Infor/Mapics experience preferred
  • Experience in various forms of warehouse inventory supply including replenishment, picking, expedites
  • MRP and Supply Chain knowledge
  • Understanding of logistics/transportation including freight-optimization and Incoterms
