This position involves operating power equipment and performing related tasks in highway maintenance and repair. Responsibilities include operating heavy machinery such as trucks, bulldozers, loaders, and cranes, performing minor repairs, repairing roadway failures, maintaining signage and barriers, assisting with traffic control, applying herbicide, and removing debris.

The role is classified as Level I or Level II, with Level I requiring no prior experience and Level II requiring one year of heavy equipment operation experience. Candidates must possess a valid Oklahoma driver’s license, with some positions requiring a commercial driver’s license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements. Physical requirements include lifting up to 80 pounds routinely and up to 100 pounds occasionally, along with various physical activities and vision capabilities.

Applicants should be willing to perform all job-related travel, work outside regular hours during emergencies, and pass pre-employment background checks, drug screening, and possibly a Physical Abilities Demonstration.
