Position Description:

The Hardware Interface Engineer will be responsible for defining, documenting, and maintaining hardware interface requirements between ECUs, sensors, and actuators. This role includes collaborating with suppliers, component owners, and internal teams to ensure interface compatibility, while driving harmonization and standardization across Stellantis’ electrical architecture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain Hardware Interface (HWI) documents for ECUs and directly connected sensors/actuators, covering electrical interface types (e.g., LSD, HSD, Half-Bridge, Analog Input), key electrical characteristics, and reference circuits.
  • Collect, analyze, and consolidate existing interface requirements to propose standardized solutions across the organization.
  • Participate in technical and design reviews with suppliers and component owners to ensure compliance with interface specifications.
  • Collaborate with component teams and suppliers for the successful implementation of HWI requirements.
  • Work with the Electrical Architecture team to define hardware interfaces for architecture components.
  • Investigate and resolve hardware interface issues during validation.
  • Monitor industry trends and technological advancements to update and evolve HWI documentation.
  • Share knowledge and support team growth through training sessions and technical presentations.
  • Drive early delivery in the product lifecycle through agile practices.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, diversity, inclusion, and results orientation.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or Master’s (MSEE) from an ABET-accredited university.
  • 3+ years in automotive electrical (architecture, systems, or hardware).
  • 1+ years in analog/digital electronic circuit hardware development.
  • 1+ years in ECU hardware design.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving ability.
  • Proficiency with MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
  • Experience in vehicle electronic architecture development.
  • Familiarity with circuit simulation tools such as PSPICE.
