Base pay range

$60,000.00/yr - $70,000.00/yr

Summary/Objective

General HR duties include recruiting, benefit & leave administration, safety, and employee relations. Coordinate and administer employee benefits, providing excellent customer service, response, and follow-up. Administer and coordinate leave of absences including FMLA, NY PFL, DBL, and Workers’ Compensation. Maintain confidentiality and handle employee matters with integrity. Deliver top-notch customer service to employees and retirees.

Essential Functions And Responsibilities

  • Assist HR Manager with recruiting responsibilities.
  • Schedule and track employee safety training.
  • Assist with employee relations issues and union contract interpretation as needed.
  • Prepare open enrollment benefit materials and communicate to staff.
  • Coordinate open enrollment updates with ADP.
  • Respond to employee needs regarding benefits.
  • Administer COBRA and assist employees with insurance enrollments.
  • Resolve employee and retiree issues with insurance providers.
  • Handle day-to-day questions from employees on policies and benefits.
  • Review and reconcile monthly invoices for benefits.
  • Update benefit information on SharePoint and ADP.
  • Manage leave of absences and workers’ compensation claims.
  • Maintain logs and reports for OSHA and Workers’ Compensation.
  • Act as payroll backup for ADP system.
  • Conduct exit interviews and manage separation processes.
  • Assist with developing and maintaining job descriptions.
  • Schedule safety and health-related tests and trainings.
  • Maintain employee handbooks and HR documents.
  • Participate in union contract negotiations.
  • Administer retiree benefits and safety programs.
  • Coordinate safety training and vendor on-site services.
  • Support Employee Safety, Training, and Wellness programs.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree with 5 years of HR experience.
  • Experience with ADP payroll and HRIS preferred.
  • Union experience is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills.

Preferred Experience

Experience in a union manufacturing environment is preferred.

Additional Information

This job description is not exhaustive and duties may change. Certifications include A.A.S degree, 5 years of HR experience, ADP payroll, and HRIS experience. Additional duties may be assigned.
