Job Summary
The HR Generalist will provide hands-on, day-to-day HR support for the company\'s employees and leadership. This generalist role will be involved in all aspects of the employee lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding to compliance and employee relations. This role will play a key role in developing and implementing foundational HR procedures and policies to support the company\'s growth.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment and Onboarding:
- Assist with the full recruitment cycle, including creating job descriptions, posting open positions, screening resumes, and scheduling interviews.
- Coordinate and process all new hire paperwork, including offer letters, I-9s, and employee information.
- Lead new hire orientations to ensure a smooth and welcoming onboarding experience.
Employee Relations and Support:
- Serve as the first point of contact for employees regarding HR-related questions and issues.
- Assist in resolving employee relations issues, providing guidance to both employees and managers.
- Help promote a positive, inclusive, and engaging company culture.
Benefits and Payroll Administration:
- Support payroll processing by collecting and inputting data related to new hires, leaves, and exits.
- Assist with benefits administration, including enrollment, communicating plan information to employees, and resolving issues with providers.
Compliance and Policy Management:
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures, including maintaining and updating the employee handbook.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records within the HR Information System (HRIS).
Performance Management and Development:
- Support the performance review cycle by coordinating paperwork and tracking completion.
- Help coordinate training and development initiatives for employees and managers.
General HR Support:
- Prepare and analyze basic HR reports and metrics.
- Assist with other administrative tasks and special HR projects as needed.
Qualifications
- A bachelor\'s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of experience in an HR or administrative support role is preferred.
- A strong understanding of HR principles, practices, and employment law.
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
- High level of confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive information.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency with HRIS and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
- The ability to work autonomously and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
