The HR Generalist is responsible for agency-wide HR-related duties and works closely with the HR Coordinator and HR Director in supporting L.E.A.P.’s HR function. They are involved in various aspects of the employee lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding to performance management and offboarding. Their work contributes to a positive work environment, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations, and supporting employee development and engagement. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Conduct full-cycle recruitment of new employees including job description development, placing advertisements, developing contacts with recruiting sources, qualifications and educational backgrounds of applicants; tracking and monitoring vacancies, new hires, and turnover; tracking and monitoring the outcome of staff recruitment efforts and assisting managerial staff with interviewing and checking references of potential candidates in conjunction with the Administrative Assistant, and new hire communications.
- Manage orientation and onboarding process for all new employees including a general agency and program orientation prior to a component specific orientation
- Maintain HR systems and records that meet L.E.A.P.’s HR information needs
- Support the management team providing HR guidance when appropriate
- Maintain and conduct the performance evaluation cycle. Train supervising staff on how to properly document the quality of their staff’s job performance, their identified areas of need, and their professional goals using the professional development form; Monitor and track that supervising staff are completing professional development sessions (every 6-8 weeks) and annual performance appraisals accordingly; Monitor that all staff are completing required trainings within the correct time frame and communicate directly with staff and their supervisor regarding any upcoming expiration dates of required trainings; Assist with documenting group and individual staff trainings in appropriate databases
- Develops an onboarding procedure for each center that is specific to their needs; Develops an individual onboarding plan for each staff member when they begin their employment to include following up with the staff member after their 1st week, 1st month, 3rd month, 6th month, and 1st year of employment
- Documentation of all staff’s qualifications and educational backgrounds in appropriate databases.
- Establish agency-wide activities and events that support positive staff morale; Facilitate staff and client wellness initiatives to be implemented on a regular basis (i.e. spirit week, monthly wellness focus, parent support groups).
- Assist with annual compliance audits set by our grants and internal audits.

- Computer – must be adept in Word, Excel, spreadsheets, and entering data accurately from source documents into prescribed computer databases, files, and forms. Demonstrated ability to analyze data and produce valid reports
- Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn human resource information system (HRIS) as it relates to onboarding and wellness, and similar computer applications
- Ability to develop and deliver presentations to individuals, small, or large groups
- Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with staff, clients, and vendors

Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or similar field or equivalent of four to ten years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- HRCI/SHRM accreditation preferred
- 3+ years working experience in Human Resources
- 2+ years working experience in implementing tactics to improve performance management
- Valid driver’s license and means of reliable transportation.
Physical Requirements
- Sedentary work. The person in this position may occasionally exert up to 10 pounds of force to grasp, lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects
- This position requires the person to frequently move about their assigned office and/or L.E.A.P. centers
- This position performs the essential functions in an indoor office setting
