Overview
Perimeter Behavioral Hospital of New Orleans has an immediate opening for an HR Manager. We are seeking an individual who is committed to improving the lives of those with mental health illness. Perimeter Behavioral Hospital of New Orleans is an acute treatment facility providing care to adults ages 18 and up. Located in Kenner, the hospital aims to provide a responsive healing environment and to inspire hope and well-being through integrated clinical practice, education, and compassion.

Responsibilities
- Creates and maintains employee files in accordance with the Joint Commission, Federal and State guidelines regarding behavioral health hospitals.
- Ensures license verifications are completed as scheduled.
- Reviews, tracks, and updates employee education files with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments.
- Coordinate onboarding for all new hires and assist in New Employee Orientation. Ensure all new hires background checks and onboarding documentation are properly completed prior to hiring.
- Administer Leave of Absence for staff including workers compensation, FMLA and other related leave.
- Update and edit HRIS system regarding any employee changes.
- Assist with recruitment activities and screenings.
- Coordinate employee engagement activities for the Hospital.
- Investigate employee issues and work with the Hospital's leadership regarding employee working performance.
- Assist in recruitment and screening of candidates for the Hospital.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related major
- Human Resources Certification strongly preferred
- Has 2-year human resources generalist experience in a healthcare setting preferably in behavioral health.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and HRIS system preferably UKG
- CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Valid driver’s license
Other
- LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and policy/procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports, correspondence, and document client behavior. Ability to speak effectively before groups of clients or employees of organization.
- MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move a minimum of 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close, distant, and peripheral vision, color and depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The employee may occasionally be required to physically restrain clients, using authorized restraint procedures as a last resort for protection of client and staff.
- WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment is a residential facility setting. The employee will be exposed to clients who may ask inappropriate personal questions, display socially unacceptable personal behaviors, use profanity, and exhibit defiance or assaultive or self-destructive behaviors. Occasional local travel and exposure to outside weather conditions may occur. The noise level is usually quiet to moderate.
- MENTAL REQUIREMENT: Ability to exercise self-control in potentially volatile situations; must work and concentrate amidst distractions and be able to multi-task without overwhelming frustration.
