Job Description

The Janitor position is responsible for performing all-purpose cleaning and preservation of assigned areas inside a building or multiple client sites. Tasks are flexible to meet client specifications.

• Empty and clean waste containers; remove waste paper and garbage; damp wipe containers.
• Empty and clean ash trays and monitor sand urns; replenish sand as required.
• Dust image frames, charts, graphs, wall hangings.
• Damp dust ceiling diffusers, partition grilles, registers, and other ventilating louvers.
• Vacuum mats and carpeted areas in the workplace, lobbies, and corridors.
• Dust and clean office furnishings, files, fixtures, paneling, window sills, and other flat surfaces.
• Wipe and buff metal hardware fixtures and bright work.
• Clean and maintain tile floor surfaces as required.
• Damp wipe and buff glass furnishings; clean entry door glass indoors and on the outer surface.
• Remove stains from vertical surfaces such as doors, door frames, and around light switches and glass dividers.
• Wash, clean, and sterilize water coolers.
• Sweep stairways and vacuum if carpeted.
• Clean building floors by sweeping and mopping; sanitize and restock bathroom supplies.

Qualifications

• Must be able to follow written and oral directions.
• Minimum of 6 months of experience in a janitorial-type position.
