Job Description

The Janitor position is responsible for performing all-purpose cleaning and preservation of the assigned area inside a particular building or multiple client sites. Exact tasks of the janitorial crew are not definite; consequently, the individual must be flexible in performing assigned duties per the client’s specifications.

Weekly Pay and Training

Weekly Pay. Paid on-the-job training.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Empty and clean all waste containers. Remove waste paper and garbage from the premises to the designated area; damp wipe containers.
• Empty and clean all ash trays, monitor all sand urns, supply and restore sand as required.
• Dust all image frames, charts, graphs and wall hangings.
• Damp dust all ceiling and air-condition diffusers, partition grilles, registers and other ventilating louvers.
• Vacuum all mats and carpeted areas in workplaces, lobbies, and corridors.
• Hand dust and clean all office furnishings, files, fixtures, paneling, window sills and all other flat surfaces.
• Wipe clean and buff metal hardware fixtures and bright work.
• Clean and maintain tile floor surfaces as required; damp wipe and buff glass furnishings.
• Clean entry door glass indoors and on the outer surface.
• Remove stains from vertical surfaces such as doors, door frames, light switches, private entry glass and dividers.
• Wash, clean and sterilize all water coolers.
• Sweep private stairways and vacuum if carpeted.
• Clean building floors by sweeping and mopping.
• Clean, sanitize, and restock supplies in bathrooms.

Qualifications

• Must be able to follow written and oral directions.
• Minimum of 6 months of experience in a janitorial-type position.

Benefits

• Enrollment in the company’s 401(k) plan, subject to eligibility requirements.
• Six paid holidays annually, five sick days.
• Vacation time offered at an accrual rate of 40 hours after 6 months of service. Unused vacation is only paid out where required by law.
