Job Purpose and Focus
To assist members of the district’s executive staff in providing leadership for the district by being informed regarding laws, rules, policies and regulations in his/her area of expertise and provide information as requested. To establish and maintain effective procedures and practices related to pupil accounting student residency and enrollment, schools of choice programs and entry, and student information services.
Essential Qualifications and Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent

- Ability to understand and apply complex policies and rules
- Ability to perform clerical tasks with limited supervision

- Ability to exercise good judgment in evaluating situations and making decisions
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally and exercise tact and discretion in relationships with district personnel, parents, and general public

- Must exhibit the proper attitude and personal qualities necessary to produce high quality office service
- Ability to develop and maintain record keeping systems and procedures
- Demonstrated ability to prepare correspondence, memoranda, and other documents with correct spelling and grammar
- Demonstrated ability to prepare, organize, and maintain accurate and detailed reports and files
- Willingness to keep abreast of changing technologies and to assume new responsibilities required by the introduction of new services and equipment
Essential Functions and Representative Duties
- Perform a variety of clerical and computer-related tasks
- Perform a variety of multi-task processes and activities under minimal direct supervision
- Exercise judgment and initiative on methods and procedures to accomplish necessary tasks
- Communicate frequently and effectively with other district personnel, parents, agencies, and the general public
- Assist building secretaries with enrollment procedures including documents, forms, and packets as well as summer and non-traditional student enrollments
- Coordinate district pupil accounting procedures/ Single Record Student Data (SRSD) with district and building contact persons, GISD, and auditors
- Coordinate district participation in Genesee Intermediate School District Collaborative Schools of Choice program, employee, and administrative choice options
- Facilitate student release requests prior to the start of the school year
- Maintain residency data and facilitate suitable home placements
- Serve as district Homeless Liaison (per McKinney-Vento legislation)
- Purchasing of curriculum materials and processing of purchase orders
- Processing administrator memberships
- Coordinating and arranging district field trips
- Facilitate placement of student teachers within the district
- Support and coordination of various district committee meetings
- Answer incoming calls and transfer them to the appropriate person
- Assist in the development of recommendations for appropriate policies to provide for the most effective management of personnel and services necessary to a productive teaching and learning environment in the district
- Work cooperatively with various organizations, including all local, state, and federal regulatory agencies, boards, and commissions
- Perform other duties as assigned
Terms of Employment
Salary and fringe benefits as established by the Board of Education. The starting wage for this position is $23.55 per hour for 40 hours a week for 52 weeks a year.
Work Environment
Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment. There is limited exposure to physical risk. Interruptions of work are routine. Flexibility and patience are required. Must be self-motivated and able to complete job assignment
without direct supervision. Must be able to work under stressful conditions.
Evaluation/Performance Measurements
Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with the provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Support Personnel. Criteria for performance include but are not limited to:
- Attendance record
- Data utilization
- Human interactions
- Participation in specific training or workshop opportunities
- Demonstration of interpersonal, time, conflict, and stress management skills
- Production and efficiency related to job duties
