Primary Purpose of Organization Unit
The College of Optometric Medicine provides doctoral level education and clinical training in preparation for licensure. The unit will support a full-time faculty and staff of approximately 35 employees and about 122 graduate students, with a public eye care clinic. The Doctor of Optometry program offers a four-year curriculum and will be accredited by the Accrediting Council on Optometric Education.
Primary Purpose of Position
The Executive Assistant provides comprehensive administrative support for the Dean of the College of Optometric Medicine, assisting with the daily operation of the College.
Job Description
- The Executive Assistant provides comprehensive administrative support for the Dean of the College of Optometric Medicine, assisting with the daily operation of the College.
- Office Management: Assist with daily operation, answer and direct inquiries, schedule meetings, maintain the dean\'s calendar, process requisitions, assist with budgets, prepare contracts, arrange travel, and draft correspondences.
- Record Keeping: Maintain organized confidential filing systems, personnel files, budget ledgers, travel information, and corresponding documents.
- Customer Service: Serve as main reception for the college and direct inquiries.
- Mail/Package Distribution: Process incoming and outgoing mail.
Management Preference
Strong working knowledge or certification in Microsoft Office software.
