A private equity-backed construction firm is seeking an Accounting Manager to join its growing team. This role will play a key part in the month-end close process, financial reporting and maintaining the integrity of the company’s general ledger.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations and supporting schedules for monthly, quarterly and annual close cycles.
- Perform variance analysis and explain key financial results.
- Ensure accuracy of the general ledger, financial statements and reports.
- Support consolidation and intercompany accounting across multiple entities.
- Prepare financial statements in compliance with US GAAP for internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with auditors to support audit and compliance requirements.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoicing and collections.
- Provide backup for payroll processing and maintain payroll-related ledger accounts.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis.
- Work cross-functionally with operations, finance and leadership to resolve accounting issues and support business initiatives.
- Contribute to process improvements, automation efforts and ERP system enhancements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent experience (typically five or more years).
- CPA strongly preferred
- Solid understanding of GAAP and business analysis
- Experience with financial systems; QuickBooks Desktop and Sage Intacct are a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to generate actionable insights.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across teams.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau preferred.
- High integrity and discretion when working with sensitive financial information.
