Accounting Manager for Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC)

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounting Manager to oversee the financial operations of our Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a mission-driven organization dedicated to providing quality healthcare services to underserved communities. Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage all accounting functions, including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including FQHC-specific requirements
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, reports, and budgets to support organizational decision-making
  • Coordinate and facilitate annual audits and financial reviews
  • Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard organizational assets
  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing training and performance evaluations
  • Collaborate with program staff to ensure accurate billing, reimbursement, and grant management
  • Monitor cash flow and manage banking relationships
  • Stay current with changes in healthcare finance regulations and best practices

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in healthcare or non-profit organizations
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, federal healthcare regulations, and grant accounting
  • Experience with accounting software and financial management systems
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Effective leadership and communication abilities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
