Base pay range
$140,000.00/yr - $160,000.00/yr
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Manage 2-3 accounting department staff members based in Los Angeles, while overseeing remote outsourced staff members. Provide guidance and mentorship to ensure accuracy and efficiency in accounting operations.
- General Ledger Management: Oversee GL management, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and monthly financial statement preparation alongside the CFO.
- Operational Improvement: Drive projects to enhance processes, increase efficiency, and implement best practices across the accounting department and the wider organization.
- Audits & Bank Reporting: Manage periodic financial and bank audits, and assist the CFO in maintaining relationships with banks and preparing necessary reports.
- Financial Analysis & Strategy: Collaborate with the CFO on financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting to guide strategic decision-making. Help shape the company’s financial future as it continues to grow.
- Month-End Closing: Oversee journal entries and month-end closing processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Compliance & Policy Enforcement: Ensure the accounting department’s adherence to internal policies, procedures, and compliance with financial reporting standards.
- Valuations & Analysis: Oversee fund valuation processes, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting and supporting internal analysis for decision-making.
- Treasury & Credit Management: Manage treasury functions, including cash management, wire transfers, bank reconciliations, and credit facilities.
Must-Have Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 5+ years of accounting experience, with a blend of public and private accounting experience.
- Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Soft Skills: Team-oriented with excellent interpersonal skills, capable of thriving in a close-knit and collaborative environment.
- Organizational Skills: Highly organized with strong time-management skills, capable of balancing multiple priorities in a growing company.
- Understanding of Accounting Fundamentals: Strong grasp of basic accounting principles, including understanding the difference between debits and credits.
