Position: Accounting Coordinator
Department: Finance
Reports To: Accounting Manager/Director of Finance FLSA Status: Non ExemptSummary:
Responsible for providing accounting support to accounting supervisors and other managers within the department. Keys daily worksheets to the general ledger system, ensures files are complete and maintained as needed, handles accounts payable duties, and assists accounting personnel. Coordinates and prepares payroll for all employees in compliance with state and federal wage and hour requirements with the company policy.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Assist with month-end financial reports
- Post journal entries
- Responsible for accounts receivable and accounts payable
- Balance sheet reconciliation
- Work with the finance team on yearly forecasting efforts
- Compiling and analyzing financial information
- Research, track, and resolve accounting problems.
- Issue checks for accounts payable
- Responsible for purchase order processing
- Responsible for W9 collection and 1099 Preparation
- Event File Maintenance
- Perform accounting and clerical functions to support supervisors
- Process facility payroll for biweekly average of up to 400 employees
- Process vacation and sick pay and maintain logs
- Prepare payroll adjustments
- Prepare manual checks, maintain check log and post to ADP
- Assist with payroll, ben liability journal entries
- Complete departmental filing and clerical duties
- Assist Finance department with various projects
- Other duties as assigned by manager
Qualifications:
Applicants should be Business, Finance, Economics or Accounting majors proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Microsoft Excel. Attention to detail, the ability to multi-task and excellent communication skills are all essential to this position.
Skills and Abilities:
- Experience with Sage Accounting Software and ADP, and Payroll software required
- Knowledge of general accounting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Work with/maintain highly confidential information.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines. Work effectively under pressure and/or stringent schedules.
- Ability to work under minimal supervision.
