Job Overview
The Accounting Manager at Intersurgical USA (EMS and Intersurgical Inc) will be responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting operations, including month-end close, journal entries, account reconciliations, bank transactions, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll/benefits accounting. This role will directly supervise three team members: an Accounts Receivable Specialist, an Accounts Payable Specialist, and a General Accountant. The ideal candidate will bring a balance of strong technical accounting expertise and leadership skills, with a passion for process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the accounting team, providing mentorship, guidance, and performance management to three direct reports.
- Oversee the month-end and year-end close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting. Prepare annual audit and tax schedules/requests.
- Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
- Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank transactions to maintain strong cash management practices.
- Oversee payroll and benefits accounting in compliance with company policies and regulations.
- Develop, implement, and maintain robust internal controls, policies, and procedures.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor\'s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA or CMA preferred
- Minimum 8 years progressive accounting experience, including 2 years managing or supervising staff
- Experience in the medical device, pharmaceutical, or healthcare industry highly desirable
- Analytical skills, attention to detail, leadership, communication, problem-solving
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, SOX compliance, and FDA regulatory environment
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle, NetSuite; Microsoft Dynamics 365 is a plus)
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and practices
- Proficiency in Excel and other data analysis tools
- Involvement in system implementations (testing phases is a plus)

- Occasional light physical effort; may sit, stoop, bend, reach, and lift items up to 50 pounds
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required in designated areas
- Office setting, possible remote work, infrequent travel
