Accounting Manager Job at Ascendo Resources in Jacksonville

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounting Manager for our client in the manufacturing industry. In this role you will be responsible for overseeing and owning all core accounting processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across financial operations. While this role has no direct reports to begin with, the Accounting Manager will serve as a key partner to business leaders, payroll, and inventory teams to support decision-making and drive process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and own the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Partner with business operations to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
• Oversee payroll accounting, reconciliations, and compliance with applicable regulations.
• Collaborate with the inventory team to ensure accurate cost accounting, inventory valuation, and reporting.
• Maintain the general ledger, account reconciliations, and journal entries.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and external audit requirements.
• Identify and implement process improvements to streamline accounting operations.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Act as a key liaison with auditors, tax advisors, and other external partners as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within a manufacturing or product-based environment.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and cost accounting principles.
• Experience with payroll accounting and inventory processes.
• Advanced proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to partner across departments.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
